Grosset-Janin specialises in post-and-beam chalets. For nearly 75 years, as carpenters, we have been developing our expertise in the construction of post-and-beam chalets and woodworking in general.
Our approach is one of understated luxury, which has become the hallmark of our chalets. Our post-and-beam chalets feature clean lines, in keeping with the traditional architecture of Alpine chalets, and evoke a sense of authenticity. We offer majestic and often quite imposing chalets, whose elegance blends into the natural landscape without detracting from it. As specialists in chalet construction, it is very important to us that our post and beam chalets fit naturally into their environment. We know how to adapt to each terrain, and the post and beam system is particularly well suited to this. Wood is the central element in the construction of a post and beam chalet. In the post and beam construction system, the wooden frame of the chalet is assembled using an ancestral method well known to master carpenters. Our wood assemblies are unique, ensuring ever-higher quality, as are our finishes. Several woodworking operations enable us to offer meticulous finishes and a high-quality finish for our post-and-beam wooden chalets. Our carpentry and joinery workshops are located in Domancy, in the Haute-Savoie region. Every post, every beam, every wooden element is designed, cut and machined in our own production workshops.
The post-and-beam system guarantees the solidity and durability of the chalet, but also adds aesthetic appeal. The wood is highlighted by beautiful joints that remain visible in the finished chalet. The exposed wooden framework becomes a decorative feature in its own right and gives the chalet character. Wood, a living and noble material, displays all its qualities in a post and beam chalet. The authentic spirit of the post-and-beam chalet is also reflected in the interior design, which showcases the nobility of wood. As wood specialists, we manufacture our own wooden windows, doors, staircases, railings and terraces. We also offer interior design for your chalet and custom-made wooden furniture: wooden headboards, cupboards, bookcases… as well as wine cellars, kitchens and dressing rooms. The interior design of our post and beam chalets often reflects our authentic identity and craftsmanship. However, every element is subject to your choice. At each stage, you decide on every detail of your construction project.
