Chalet Cuchet

This project was not approached in the traditional spirit of the mountain chalet. Simple in appearance, its technical design is quite sophisticated.

As well as completely redesigning the façades and openings, it’s when you step inside that the metamorphosis is striking.

The design is very contemporary, with sharp edges and a light framework. The architectural approach is such that nothing superfluous weighs down the whole: the blinds are concealed in the walls, with no visible casing, the windows are huge and full-height, and the design of the fireplace is deliberately straightforward. Home automation allows everything to be controlled discreetly.

The hinges and other joinery frames disappear thanks to the ‘underlay doors’, which blend into the décor by being totally integrated into the wall. There are no frames or fittings. The hinges are perfectly concealed.

The terrace is entered through a large bay window that opens at an angle, with no visible frames. A self-supporting structure has been specially designed above and concealed beneath the wood to allow this incredible opening onto the outside world.
